 RESUME 

 Abstract of my Work 

I have been able to work with some of the brightest minds in the sports journalism field. From my journey with the Houston Chronicle to MLB.com, I have learned a lot about how to chase a story, write on deadlines and interact with sources. Recently, I covered the Atlanta Legends in the Alliance of American Football League (AAF). Here is an excerpt of my resume and you are welcome to download the full document below. Enjoy! 

WORK EXPERIENCE

Alliance of American Football 

  • Produced daily content (features, game stories, analysis, and previews) for the Atlanta Legends.

  • Curated and engaged content on social media to provide information on the team.

  • Assisted in producing weekly player profiles that aired on different platforms.

  • Worked full-time in the position.

Fayette County News 

  • Covered various high school sports for five local Fayette High Schools. 

  • Launched several projects that consisted of beat reporting and features. 

  • Worked 40 hours per week. 

MLB.com 

  • Daily beat coverage of the Atlanta Braves/MLB for MLB.com and wrote multiple stories (gamers, features, analysis, and enterprise).

  • Helped aggregate coverage for SEO optimization on MLB.com Google carousels and uploaded postgame interviews for audiences. Worked 40 hours per week as an associate reporter.
    In March 2018, I worked part-time as a reporter the website’s News Desk and I wrote breaking news that came across the wire.

U.S. Olympic Committee 

  • Traveled to Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and wrote features on Team USA athletes.

  • Wrote various articles (gamers, profiles, etc) each day and assisted esteemed journalists with Olympic coverage.

  • Published stories on U.S. Olympians that also appeared in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution and TeamUSA.org.

  • Covered the entire Olympics and reported on gold medal matches in sports like Archery, Track and Field, and Judo.

Atlanta Journal-Constitution 

  • Assisted beat reporters in creating content (features, gamers, and profiles) for newspaper distribution and online platforms.

  • Curated videos of postgame interviews from multiple sporting events.

  • Traveled on a business trip to Knoxville, TN to cover the 1996 women’s basketball team at the Women’s Basketball Hall of Fame.

  • Worked 40 hour weeks at this internship and wrote articles pertaining to various Atlanta professional sports teams.

Houston Chronicle

  • Wrote features, gamers, enterprise and analysis stories for Houston’s major professional/collegiate sports teams.

  • Reported on the 2015 Women’s Soccer World Cup. The story reached A1 on the front page of the newspaper.

  • Supervised under the watchful eye of editors Jay Lee, Reid Laymance, Randy Harvey and Dan Cunningham.

  • Worked 40 per week and reported various stories on the newspaper’s print and digital platforms.
